The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport has issued invitations for contractors to submit bids for more than $77 million in rehabilitation and renovation works at three major national facilities.

The projects include exterior renovation and general electrical works at the National Trust of Guyana, rehabilitation of the roof at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue, and rehabilitation of the roof at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue.

According to the tender notice, the National Trust project has an engineer’s estimate of $24.4 million, while the National Gymnasium and Cliff Anderson Sports Hall projects are estimated at $27.5 million and $25.9 million, respectively.

The ministry said the works will be procured through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures in keeping with the Procurement Act 2003 and Procurement Regulations 2004.

Interested contractors can obtain further information and inspect bidding documents at the ministry’s Procurement Unit located at Lot 71-72 Main and Quamina Streets in Georgetown.

To be considered, bidders must submit valid business registration, National Insurance Scheme (NIS) compliance and Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) compliance certificates.

Tender documents are available for purchase at a non-refundable cost of $5,000.

Completed bids must be submitted to the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) at the Ministry of Finance Compound, Main and Urquhart Streets, Georgetown, by 9:00 hrs on June 30, 2026.

The planned works form part of ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade key sports and heritage infrastructure, ensuring these facilities remain functional and capable of serving athletes, cultural stakeholders and the wider public.
