A Disingenuous and Mischievous Agenda Against PWSI

Reference is made to a Stabroek News article with the caption “Coverden Residents Pledge to up action against oil waste facility”, on September 1, 2024. This news article stemmed from a community engagement organized by Ms. Audreyanna Thomas, which was held on August 30th, 2024.

Disappointingly, but not surprisingly, the report is far from the truth in terms of what actually occurred at the community engagement. The owner of PWSI, Mr. Mahendra Jettoo has been actively engaging the residents with the view to educate them about the waste treatment plant and has been taking several persons on a tour of the facility to see first-hand how it operates.

We have come to learn that the residents within the community have been deliberately misled and/or misinformed about the facility by Ms. Thomas. To this end, residents were told that the waste treatment plant was not approved by the relevant authorities, which is utterly false, and we have already addressed this aspect.

Thankfully, whatever is Ms. Thomas’s agenda against Mr. Jettoo, she has been failing miserably. In this regard, as reported in the article, only eight (8) residents turned up, out of a population of over 500 persons in that community. We were informed that even the persons who were present did not agree with what Ms. Thomas was presenting to them. Some of the residents opposed the false information she was presenting as well. And even the gentleman whose property upon which the meeting was held, is now embarrassed because he had no clue, prior, what was Ms. Thomas’s agenda.

In view of the foregoing, we now wish to bring this matter to closure, and will not engage or respond to Ms. Audreyanna Thomas in the future in respect of this matter.

Notwithstanding, should Ms. Thomas continue with her pre-conceived, ill-intended agenda against Mr. Jettoo / PWSI, we will explore a legal course of action against Ms. Thomas, wherein she will have the opportunity to substantiate her false claims in a Court of law.

In so doing,  PWSI reserves the right to seek monetary compensation for reputational damages caused by Ms. Thomas in her anti-development and hostile campaign against PWSI/Mr. Jettoo.

Finally, anyone from the independent media is welcome to visit the facility for a tour and to learn about the operations of the waste treatment plant. An independent view can be formed therefrom.
