President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to constructing the road to Kwebanna.

He explained that the project will unlock new economic opportunities and improve livelihoods for residents in Region One.

Addressing residents during Wednesday’s cabinet outreach in Santa Rosa, the president said work on the road will commence as promised, noting that the investment extends beyond improving transportation.

“I want to assure you that we are going to commence that road and complete that road as we have committed to during the elections. And not only completing this road to Kwebanna, but looking at every opportunity that can be created along the road.”

President Ali explained that the government intends to maximise the economic potential of the corridor by supporting housing development, agriculture, poultry farming, hydroponics and swamp shrimp production.

He said these complementary investments will create employment, stimulate enterprise and strengthen the local economy.

The president noted that the road forms part of the government’s broader strategy to improve hinterland connectivity.
