The Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning, through the Board of Industrial Training (BIT), will host the National Youth Skills Forum and Skills Search Expo 2026 on July 15 at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC) in Liliendaal.

A number of key stakeholders will come together to prepare young citizens for opportunities in Guyana’s rapidly expanding economy.

The event, which runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, will provide a platform for government representatives, employers, educators, training institutions, industry leaders and youths to discuss the skills required to meet the country’s growing workforce demands while strengthening links between education and employment.

Discussions during the forum will focus on workforce readiness, apprenticeships, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), industry partnerships and the evolving needs of the labour market.

Participants will also hear from professionals across various sectors on the knowledge and competencies employers are seeking.

The accompanying Skills Search Expo will feature booths from government agencies, training institutions and private sector organisations, allowing attendees to explore career opportunities, access information on skills training programmes and interact directly with potential employers.

The initiative forms part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote long-term learning and develop a highly skilled and competitive workforce capable of supporting Guyana’s continued economic growth and the job market.

Students, job seekers, parents, educators, employers and members of the public are encouraged to attend the free event.
