Minister of Education, Sonia Parag, has given contractors two weeks to complete outstanding remedial works at the Mackenzie High School in Linden, including repainting and other critical upgrades.

Minister Parag issued the directive during a site visit to the school on Thursday, where she conducted a comprehensive walkthrough of the compound, classrooms and other key areas to assess the ongoing works.

The remedial programme includes fresh painting, upgrades to the electrical system and plumbing repairs to improve and modernise the school’s facilities and learning environment.

The education minister stressed that the outstanding works must be completed within the stipulated timeframe to ensure students are properly accommodated in a safe, functional and comfortable environment.

She also asked school officials, including the headteacher and members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), to keep her personally updated on the progress of the project.
The ministry in statement noted that a well-maintained and conducive learning environment remains critical to supporting students’ morale, concentration and overall academic performance.
