Residents of Coomacka Mines are welcoming President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s direct engagement with communities, describing his outreach visit on Wednesday as an important opportunity for residents to raise concerns and hear about ongoing development.
Wunita Garey, who lives at Three Friend Mine, said the outreach provides residents with an opportunity to directly share their concerns with the president.
She pointed to improvements already taking place, including road works and access to school transportation.
Garey, who has three children attending school in Linden, said reliable transportation remains a major concern for families in the area.
She also welcomed the president’s decision to engage residents directly.
Garey said it is important for him to continue visiting communities and speaking with people about their concerns.
Chapunna [only name given] of Three Friend Mines said the engagement was beneficial and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to hear directly from the President.
Additionally, Grace Rogers said such engagements allow residents to connect directly with government and described the initiative as a good one.
Meanwhile, Nikita White said the outreach was supportive and that residents appeared comfortable participating in the engagement.
She also expressed appreciation for development taking place in the community and support for young people.
President Ali’s Region 10 outreach forms part of the government’s continued efforts to engage residents directly, hear their concerns and assess development needs at the community level.
