In a bid to strengthen its international presence, Guyana’s Government, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has announced the appointment of three distinguished diplomats to represent the nation globally.

Professor Compton Bourne will serve as the Ambassador-designate to Brazil. At the same time, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy will be the Ambassador to Switzerland and Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sasenarine Singh will assume the role of Ambassador to Belgium, concurrently serving as Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the European Union and the Organisation of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States, based in Brussels.

The Ministry has confirmed that the new diplomatic appointees will assume their positions soon.

Congratulations to all three distinguished diplomats, especially Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, who has been contributing articles to our global news platform.
