We are pleased to see President Dr. Irfaan Ali’s announcement that Guyana is in active discussions for the construction of fuel storage facilities. This is a critical move as global supply chain vulnerabilities: like the Strait of Hormuz: continue to highlight the risks of depending on fragmented, private replenishment cycles.
This development aligns perfectly with the strategic framework we proposed in April in our insight piece: “A Regional Safety Net: A Sovereign Strategic Framework for SphereX’s Proposed GY-TT-SR-JA Regional Reserve Framework.”
We argued that Guyana needs more than just storage; we need a government-to-government platform: a Tactical Regional Bridge: to manage crises and build long-term resilience with regional partners like Suriname, Trinidad, and Jamaica.
By prioritizing this sovereign safety net and exploring regional partnerships, Guyana is positioning itself as the true energy hub of the Caribbean.
