    Minister Deodat Indar, representing the Ministry of Public Works, took the stage in Houston, Texas, to showcase Guyana’s investment potential during a session at the Bilateral Chamber. This event, held in conjunction with the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), provided a platform for Minister Indar to highlight Guyana’s evolving landscape and energy strategy while discussing opportunities for foreign direct investment.

    Minister Deodat Indar is playing an active role in encouraging foreign investment in Guyana. He’s making himself accessible to discuss the various business opportunities that exist within the country with potential investors. This signals a proactive approach from the government to attract external capital and expertise, which can contribute to Guyana’s economic growth and development.

    Mr. Manniram Prashad, the President of the Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber (GOGEC), is also engaged in promoting business prospects within Guyana’s oil and gas sector. Given his background as a former Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce in Guyana, his involvement underscores the significance of collaboration between foreign companies and private sectors in driving investment initiatives.

    Houston serves as a hub for Guyanese expertise, providing valuable support to potential investors. One notable individual is Captain Benjamin Bennett, a senior Director at Chartwell Inc. With his expertise in oil and gas and infrastructure projects in Guyana and Africa, Captain Bennett’s involvement highlights the depth of local knowledge available to investors. His participation in four ongoing projects in Guyana demonstrates a tangible track record, further bolstering investor confidence in the opportunities present within Guyana.

    Retired US General Wesley Clark, a former presidential candidate and NATO Supreme Allied Commander, shared the spotlight. Together, they emphasized the importance of collaboration and investment in Guyana’s burgeoning sectors.

    After the session, Minister Deodat Indar was warmly welcomed at a ‘Guyana Night’ reception, where he received a token of appreciation from Mayor Pro-Temp Martha Castex-Tatum, symbolizing the city’s support for Guyana’s presence at OTC. The reception, hosted by Guyana’s Honorary Consul General of the Southwest United States, the Honorable Lutfi Hassan, further solidified the bonds between Guyana and Houston, leaving a lasting positive impression.
