Residents of the Moruca sub-region will soon have easier access to essential public services with the establishment of a Government Service Centre in Santa Rosa.

President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali made the announcement during Wednesday’s outreach to the region.

The president said the facility will transform the existing post office into a one-stop centre offering services from agencies including the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) and the General Register Office (GRO), while also providing digital identification services, passport renewal, agricultural extension support and banking services through an automated teller machine (ATM).

The centre will also facilitate access to the government’s GOAL scholarship programme, allowing residents to pursue tertiary education without leaving the region.

President Ali added that the facility will be staffed by residents of the community who will receive the necessary training to deliver the services.
