President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali has announced that two new generators will be installed in the Moruca sub-region as the government moves to improve electricity reliability for residents.
Speaking during Wednesday’s outreach in Santa Rosa, the president revealed that contracts for the generators were awarded last week.
He described the investment as another step in ensuring Region One benefits from the country’s ongoing development.

The additional generating capacity will support the delivery of more reliable 24-hour electricity while meeting the growing demand for power as communities continue to expand and new development projects come on stream.
President Ali said the investment reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring hinterland communities enjoy the same growth opportunities and improved quality of life as other parts of the country.
