Vice-President Dr Bharrat Jagdeo is set to continue his nationwide public outreach programme today with a visit to Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), where residents will have the opportunity to engage directly with government officials about issues affecting their lives and communities.
The outreach session will be held at the National Track and Field Centre in Leonora from 10:00 hrs. Residents are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they can participate in the discussions and access the available government services.
The initiative brings together the Vice-President, government ministers, and representatives from several state agencies in one location, providing a convenient platform for citizens to raise concerns and seek assistance without having to visit multiple government offices.
During the engagement, residents will be able to raise matters ranging from housing and land applications to employment opportunities, agricultural support, infrastructure improvements, drainage concerns, and assistance for small and medium-sized businesses. Officials will document the issues raised and work to ensure they are addressed, either immediately or through the relevant ministries and agencies.
Previous outreach exercises in Regions Two, Four, Five, and Six attracted significant public participation, with many residents using the opportunity to seek solutions to personal and community challenges.
As the programme arrives in Region Three, government officials expect residents of communities across the Essequibo Islands and the West Demerara corridor to take advantage of the initiative and voice their concerns directly to decision-makers.
The outreach forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement with citizens, improve service delivery, and ensure that communities have greater access to the agencies responsible for addressing their needs.
