The voters are witnessing infighting among the PNC party’s inner circle who want to distance themselves from Hamilton Green, advocating that the PNC has been rigging elections for decades and should continue rigging elections to get rid of “these devils, these bastards, and these demons.”
We presume Hamilton Green is allegedly referring these disgusting words to the Indo-Guyanese, the Amerindians, and the other minorities who are not Afro-Guyanese.
Bharrat Jagdeo, General Secretary of the Peoples’ Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), Criticised the Opposition for working for their benefit rather than the nation’s having a genuine concern for Guyanese.
In Babu Jaan, Port Mourant, East Berbice, Jagdeo provided Berbicians with this “food for thought.” In Berbice-Corentyne, a mammoth crowd honoured the party’s late leader, Dr Cheddi Jagan, the founder.
He said that reflecting on how the PPP has improved the nation and restored prosperity, Guyanese as a whole benefit from this development.
The APNU may seem to be fighting for us, but it’s not. Jagdeo said, “They’re fighting for themselves.”.
If you are Afro Guyanese or Black, this is the only party you can belong to: The Amerindians, Mixed or Indo Guyanese, who would ensure you and your family’s safety. The People’s Progressive Party shows children progress, sustainable progress.”
He continued, “If you look at this crowd if you look at our activities if you look at our programs, that’s the worst nightmare for APNU. That’s all [for] our people, regardless of race, across Guyana. That’s a fundamental benefit of the People’s Progressive Party; we have a difference.”
In addition, he argued that the focus of APNU was elitist, benefiting only a few individuals. The majority of the country was affected.
After leaving office, the Opposition battered the economy. Jagdeo said there is evidence that the PPP moved from its office in 1992, taking the country and its people forward. “We are very fortunate that Dr Jagan outlined a philosophy for a party to which we can contribute. “Remain faithful,” he advised.
According to Jagdeo, the PPP is headed by President Irfaan Ali’s leadership and remains faithful to Dr Jagan’s philosophy.
He emphasized the party’s commitment to national unity, bringing together people from different backgrounds. This unity is essential for Guyana’s full development; he believes in developing and reaching its full potential.
Jagdeo accused APNU of using racism as a political tool today to mobilize people.”
According to him, the opposition selectively highlights relevant issues. They neglect the broader progress made under PPP/C in favour of the emotions of their supporters’ governance.
Under the APNU+AFC, Afro-Guyanese were mistreated, and Jagdeo presented specific examples of administration.
“The Afro-Guyanese were among the worst-treated during the five years they were under in office,” he said.
In areas like Linden, he highlighted unfulfilled promises and disparity between commitments made and the actual support provided to the people.
In contrast, the PPP government has honoured its pledge to support the Afro-Guyanese business community. A bank license has been awarded to an Afro-Guyanese, two oil blocks worth billions of USA dollars have been allocated to four Afro-Guyanese businesswomen entrepreneurs, 60 acres of land have been assigned to the Afro-Guyanese Black caucus, and many individual Afro–Guyanese have been independently given land and opportunities to build hotels and office blocks on government lands.
Today, many Afro-Guyanese are starting new business enterprises with the support of the present government.
Forbes Burnham created only office jobs for Afro-Guyanese, so nearly 75% of them are still in office jobs in different government sectors. During his almost 20 years in office, Burnham was responsible for not offering any business opportunities to Afro-Guyanese people.
Although 75% of all government office jobs are in Afro-Guyanese hands, Aubrey Norton is still accusing the PPP party of racism and favouritism.
We wonder why? The answer is simple: Burnham and his predecessors never believed that the Afro–Guyanese could start new businesses.
Today, the present PPP/C government is putting right what Forbes Burnham did wrong many decades ago against the Afro-Guyanese business community.
Aubrey Norton should study his master Burnham’s reason why he kept the Afro-Guyanese in office jobs rather than opening business opportunities for them. Aubrey Norton needs to put his party in order before he accuses the PPP party and government of racism and nepotism.
The PPP government has done more for Afro-Guyanese than Aubrey Norton Master Forbes Burnham did during his miserable 20 years and illegally remaining in power by rigging elections after elections.
Hamilton Green is right in exposing Forbes Burnham’s Election rigging formula. This is Forbes Burnham’s only legacy to the citizens of Guyana and the World.
