A skilled craftsman from Varanasi, Kunj Bihari, who holds a National Award in Pink Meenakari, dedicated 108 days of hard work to create a stunning replica of the Shri Ram Temple. Crafted from gold, silver, and diamonds, the 2.5 kg statue stands 12 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 12 inches long.
The top of the temple is adorned with one and a half kilos of silver, gold, and uncut diamonds, forming 108 intricately designed parts.
Reflecting on the creation, Kunj Bihari expressed gratitude to Lord Shri Ram, stating that the temple’s formation was a divine manifestation. Initially facing challenges, he found success by invoking the name of Lord Shri Ram and working while listening to his hymns.
Earlier in the month, the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha marked its 50th anniversary, celebrating a journey that began on January 8, 1974, under the leadership of the late Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud. The organization, founded under the Aadra Nakshatra, emerged as a beacon of hope for the Hindu community during challenging times in the 1970s. It has since been dedicated to fostering unity and promoting religious, cultural, social, and educational development.
As highlighted on its Facebook page, the Sabha has expanded its mission beyond the education of Hindus, encompassing areas such as social issues, health, well-being, and community service. It operates educational institutions, including the Dharmic Rama Krishna Nursery, primary and secondary schools, and the Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud Dharmic Sanskritik Kendra. Bal Nivas, an initiative by the Sabha, provides essential shelter and support for vulnerable children.
The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha commemorated its 50th milestone anniversary with a puja and Satsang at the Shri Krishna Mandir in Campbellsville.
