His Excellency President Dr Irfaan Ali is set to receive recognition for his impactful and transformative leadership during an official visit to Accra, Ghana, this week.
President Ali left Guyana yesterday and is scheduled to return on Monday, January 29, 2024. President Ali will be honoured with the distinguished Global Africa Leadership Award. This accolade acknowledges his robust and transformative leadership since assuming office in August 2020.
The prestigious award explicitly commends President Irfan Ali’s dedication to fostering ‘One Guyana,’ underscored by his emphasis on unity, inclusivity, and shared prosperity. It also recognizes his principled leadership during a period of heightened tension surrounding the border dispute between Guyana and Venezuela.
The leaders of Africa have recognised President Ali as a man of principle who cares for the welfare of all Guyanese. Despite being accused by some Afro-Guyanese of racism, President Ali has been recognised as an honest and decent leader by the leaders of the Continent of Africa.
The small group of Afro-Guyanese need to stop their racist accusations against the PPP party and President Irfaan Ali. These accusers are making a fool of themselves in the eyes of the majority of Afro-Guyanese citizens in Guyana, who are decent people who believe in democracy and fair elections. Not like the opposition parties, which rigged the last general election and became a laughingstock worldwide.
The PNC has a massive task of convincing the Guyanese people that they will not rig any polls anymore. Unfortunately, there is a saying that “a leopard never changes its spots.” The racist label against the President does not work. It is a fabricated lie by the accusers and those who are condoning it in the Opposition parties. The opposition parties have nothing to offer the citizens of Guyana anymore. They are bankrupt of any ideas, and the only thing they can do is attack the President of Racism.
Some Guyanese abroad who are accusing President Irfaan Ali are mainly diaspora pensioners, and they have achieved nothing in their adopted country, and no one knows who they are. They are primarily looking for a 15-minute fame in their miserable lives abroad. Some of them have lived in their adopted countries for over 40 years and are accusing both President Irfaan Ali and Vice-President Bharrat Jagdeo of racism. These Guyanese Diasporas have contributed nothing towards the development and the welfare of the people of Guyana. They are a bunch of cowards scared of coming back to Guyana using the democratic channel and standing as a candidate in elections.
The Afro-Guyanese are intelligent voters who know when an accusation is fabricated for political reasons.
In addition to the award ceremony, the President’s official visit will include delivering the keynote address at the Presidential Dialogues session and active participation in panel discussions at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues Summit of Heads of State and Business Leaders.
The visit serves as a testament to President Ali’s leadership on the global stage and reinforces his commitment to diplomatic engagement and regional prosperity.
