The FIFA World Cup 2026 has its final four teams after a dramatic day of quarter-final action, with England, Norway, Argentina, and Switzerland securing their places in the semi-finals following impressive performances.

England continued their dream run by edging past Norway in a fiercely contested encounter. The Three Lions displayed resilience and attacking quality to book their place in the last four, keeping alive hopes of lifting the World Cup trophy for the first time since 1966.

Norway, despite their defeat to England in the quarter-finals, had reached the last eight after an outstanding tournament that included victories over Brazil and Ivory Coast. Their campaign showcased the nation’s growing strength on the international stage.

Defending champions Argentina once again proved why they remain among football’s elite, overcoming Switzerland with a commanding display. The South American giants combined clinical finishing with disciplined defending to seal another semi-final appearance, moving one step closer to retaining their world title.

Switzerland also earned widespread praise for an impressive World Cup campaign. After eliminating Colombia in a dramatic penalty shootout in the Round of 16, the Swiss reached the quarter-finals, where they pushed Argentina before bowing out.

The semi-final lineup now promises two blockbuster encounters, with England set to face Argentina in one of international football’s most anticipated rivalries. The winner will advance to the FIFA World Cup 2026 final and move within touching distance of global glory.

Football fans around the world can expect high-intensity action as the tournament enters its decisive stage, with four of the competition’s strongest teams battling for a place in the final and the chance to become world champions.
