India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Tuesday held a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, discussing key bilateral and global issues as New Delhi and Washington continue to deepen strategic cooperation.

According to official sources, the two leaders exchanged views on strengthening India–US relations across a wide range of areas, including trade, defence, technology, and people-to-people ties. The conversation also covered regional and global developments of mutual concern, underlining the growing alignment between the two democracies on major international challenges.

Jaishankar highlighted India’s commitment to working closely with the United States to promote a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific. The importance of maintaining stability in the region and ensuring respect for international law was also discussed during the call.

Both sides reaffirmed their intention to remain in close touch and build on the momentum of recent high-level engagements. The phone conversation is seen as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to sustain regular dialogue between the two countries at the highest levels.

India and the United States have significantly expanded cooperation in recent years, with partnerships spanning defence collaboration, clean energy initiatives, critical and emerging technologies, and global health. The latest interaction between Jaishankar and Rubio signals continuity in diplomatic engagement and shared strategic priorities between New Delhi and Washington.
