A digital learning platform offering primary school content from grades one to six is set to be rolled out in the upcoming academic year, September 2026/2027.

Minister of Education Sonia Parag on Tuesday said the efforts will expand the government’s Digital School Initiative and ensure pupils have free access to lessons and learning resources.

    Minister of Education, Sonia Parag

Following consultation on the anti-bullying and anti-violence policy at the Mahicony Technical and Vocational Training Centre in Region Five, the minister noted the ministry is working to have primary school content available on the Guyana Digital School platform by September 2027, building on the initiative launched in December 2025.

She explained that the platform is being developed so that all content taught in schools will also be available digitally through live classes, recorded lessons and learning resources.

The minister noted that the initiative was conceived in response to the learning disruptions experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The digital school provides live classes, lessons and learning resources at no cost to pupils, complementing classroom instruction while ensuring continuity of education during future disruptions.
