Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Steven Jacobs, shared the update on Sunday, highlighting the ongoing improvements at the multi-purpose sporting facility.

The government has invested more than $300 million in the comprehensive rehabilitation of the sports hall, which now has the capacity to accommodate more than 2,000 spectators.

The extensive renovation has included significant structural and mechanical upgrades. It saw the replacement of the roof, installation of a new ceiling and vented walls, replacement of the rear section of the building and upgrade of the side walls.

In addition, the front of the building was refurbished, and electrical works were done, along with the installation of new air conditioning systems to enhance the facility’s comfort and functionality.

The upgraded sports hall provides athletes with a modern, high-quality training environment while also strengthening the country’s capacity to host regional and international sporting events.
