Participating establishments in Restaurant Week 2026 say the annual culinary event is helping them attract new patrons.
The event is also creating lasting benefits beyond the week-long promotion for the 26 participating. restaurants.
Speaking to the Department of Public Information(DPI) on Monday, Serina Salikram, a concierge, said that Swingerz has seen a significant increase in customer traffic, with many first-timers returning to sample their special menu.

Salikram said that Restaurant Week 2026 allows local restaurants to offer more members of the public to experience their menus.
Additionally, the Director of Bluebel, Shivana Persaud, spoke with DPI and gave similar sentiments, pointing to the success of its participation in last year’s Restaurant Week.
Persaud said that last year’s experience was spectacular, noting that persons from all over the country, like Linden and Berbice, visited the Café.
Bluebel’s director said that the exposure was extremely great during that period with sales skyrocketing.

“To date, we still have some of those customers with us”, she told DPI.
The restaurant currently offers a $10,000 package with a three-course meal.
Persuad also said this allows restaurants to be a part of something bigger for their communities than just a standalone restaurant.
“When you’re part of THAG and any event that they’re hosting, you do feel like you come together and you’re serving your country in a better way”, she said.

She also added that it provides more experience for hospitality and tourism in Guyana’s elevating culinary sector.
Guyana Restaurant Week 2026 runs from June 19 to June 2, which continues to allow dozens of participating establishments to offer specially curated menus for patrons across the country.
The event also showcases Guyana’s growing culinary industry, with restaurants using local ingredients and creative cuisine to enhance the country’s tourism sector.
