Arrival Day reminds us of the rich history of sacrifice, perseverance, determination, and enterprise
brought by the many peoples who came to these shores and helped shape the Guyanese nation.

As we commemorate this important occasion, all Guyanese are encouraged to reflect on the grueling
journeys endured by our foreparents, the harsh conditions they faced, and the sacrifices they made to
build families, communities, and livelihoods. Despite immense hardship, they persevered and contributed
significantly to the development of Guyana through agriculture, business, public service, education,
    religion, culture, and national life.

Their efforts laid the foundation for the multi-cultural and multi-religious society we proudly celebrate
today. Through their resilience and hard work, they instilled in succeeding generations the values of
sacrifice, unity, brotherhood, and respect for one another. These values continue to define us as a people
and are reflected in the shared celebrations, traditions, and customs that enrich our national identity.

Arrival Day also reminds us of the importance of preserving the unity and harmony that have allowed
Guyana to progress as one nation. The sacrifices made by our ancestors created opportunities for future
generations and contributed to the advancement and transformation of our country.

As Guyana continues along its path of growth and development, may we honour the legacy of our
foreparents by working together to build a peaceful, prosperous, and united nation for all Guyanese.
    Happy Arrival Day 2026.
