President Dr Irfaan Ali, along with members of his Cabinet, senior government officials, and party members, attended the Janazah and funeral of Owal Mustapha Rahman, the late father of Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha, on Sunday. The solemn proceedings took place in Berbice, where family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to pay their final respects.

The presence of the Head of State and other senior officials demonstrated a strong show of solidarity and support for Minister Mustapha and his family during their time of mourning. The Janazah was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, followed by the burial. Attendees offered prayers for the departed soul and words of comfort to the family. The gathering was marked by quiet dignity as mourners remembered the life and legacy of Owal Mustapha Rahman.

Minister Zulfikar Mustapha and his family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and condolences from across the country. The presence of national leaders underscored the close bonds within Guyana’s public service community and the importance of standing together in moments of personal loss.

Our publication extends its sincere condolences to the Minister and family.
