In the history of Guyana’s politics, one name stands out — Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo. He is more than just a politician; he is a man who has dedicated his entire life to serving the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and, most importantly, the people of Guyana. His life journey reflects integrity, experience, and an unwavering commitment to national development.

What makes Dr. Jagdeo stand out is his belief in equality. He does not judge a person based on the color of their skin or their ethnic background. To him, every Guyanese is equal and deserves respect, care, and opportunities. His inclusive leadership has helped bridge divides in a country often torn apart by forces of division and race. In today’s political landscape, he remains the most experienced politician in Guyana, admired by many and envied by those who cannot match his caliber.

A Politician of Experience and Knowledge

Dr. Jagdeo is not only a politician but also a highly skilled economist. Don’t try to challenge his knowledge of numbers; he will outsmart you. His strong academic background, combined with practical governance experience, has made him a leader with both vision and management skills. His ability to plan, execute, and oversee policies has been crucial in transforming Guyana into one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Dr. Jagdeo is a determined politician with a clear vision for Guyana and its people to enjoy a decent standard of living. His goal is to continue improving the livelihoods of all Guyanese.

His two terms as President of Guyana and his time as Finance Minister have given him extensive knowledge of international politics, the economy, and diplomacy. No one in Guyana has a background like Dr. Jagdeo’s. He is a highly experienced politician who understands Guyana’s politics better than anyone else. His broad political knowledge is unmatched and cannot be matched by any other politician in Guyana.

He knows Guyana inside out — from Region 1 to Region 10 — and enjoys meeting people from all communities, listening to their stories, and sharing his vision for progress. His leadership style relies on direct engagement with citizens, which is why people see him not only as a leader but also as one of their own. Since the announcement of the general elections, Dr. Jagdeo has been travelling across the country, visiting voters at their homes, and highlighting the past five years of economic achievements and plans for the next five years. Dr. Jagdeo is a politician with his feet firmly on the ground.

A Leader Who Respects the Law

Unlike many politicians who bend rules for personal gain, Dr. Jagdeo has always upheld the rule of law. He operates within the country’s legal framework and is dedicated to strengthening democratic institutions. His politics focus on long-term progress rather than quick applause, aiming to achieve sustainable advancements for future generations of Guyanese.

His enemies often try to damage his reputation, character, and credibility, but Dr. Jagdeo has proven he’s not distracted by baseless criticisms. He ignores those seeking cheap publicity and attention, warning that if they cross legal boundaries, he will hold them accountable through the courts. His discipline and strength make him an influential political figure who is prepared to challenge anyone who falsely accuses him of racism. Dr. Jagdeo has no trace of racism in his blood or DNA.

There are a few frustrated Guyanese abroad and some in Guyana whose only goal seems to be attacking Dr. Jagdeo without cause. Still, they are such insignificant figures that they are merely seeking some form of recognition in Guyana. From an election perspective, all of them combined could only garner a maximum of 20 votes in the country. Do the Guyanese care about these losers? The answer is a big no.

It is important to note that anyone wanting to criticize Dr. Jagdeo should have some followers in Guyana. If not, please stop wasting our time and his. This is a fundamental principle of democracy. Critics hiding behind closed doors are only interested in seeking fifteen minutes of fame by attacking Dr. Jagdeo, but they are not his equals. By attacking Dr. Jagdeo, they think they will gain some publicity in Guyana, but they only end up embarrassing themselves and looking foolish.

Resilience in the Face of Criticism

Like any great leader, Dr. Jagdeo faces his critics. Some opponents, driven by envy, jealousy, and insecurity, have tried to tarnish his reputation. Sanctioned criminals and political illiterates such as Nazar and Azruddin Mohamed attempted to manipulate situations with false accusations against him, but the people of Guyana saw through their schemes.

Everyone in Guyana knows that the Mohameds are seeking political asylum in Venezuela. The Mohameds have been visiting the Venezuelan Embassy in Georgetown. People in Guyana are fully aware that the US law authorities are after Nazar and Azruddin Mohamed.

Similarly, critics like Glenn Lall, who once struggled as a small cloth trader, have built careers criticizing Dr. Jagdeo without offering real solutions. Glenn Lall is a loser and has nothing to contribute to the people, and moreover, he is a serious embarrassment to the journalistic profession.

Even publications like the Stabroek News, with their international connections, have attempted to use outdated colonial-style “divide and rule” tactics in Guyana’s politics. But the people of Guyana are more intelligent now. They are educated, informed, and fully aware of who truly works for them, as evidenced by Stabroek News’ declining sales, which indicate that it is no longer a publication people care about. Today, social media platforms are where most Guyanese get their news.

Despite criticism from some news outlets, Dr. Jagdeo avoids dwelling on negative voices and instead focuses on what matters most — development, progress, and the people’s well-being.

    Achievements and Vision

Dr Jagdeo’s leadership has been defined by his achievements in economic growth, infrastructure, and international diplomacy. He has represented Guyana with dignity on the world stage, especially on issues of climate change and sustainable development. His Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) remains a pioneering global model for balancing environmental protection with economic advancement.

Domestically, Dr. Jagdeo has played a key role in policies that have enhanced healthcare, education, and housing. His skill in attracting foreign investment while safeguarding national interests has made Guyana a rising star in the global economy.

Looking ahead, Dr. Jagdeo discusses not only past achievements but also the goals for the next five years. His vision is to ensure responsible management of Guyana’s oil wealth, that every Guyanese benefits from development, and that the country stays united as it grows stronger internationally.

    A Private yet Caring Politician

Beneath his strong public image, Dr. Jagdeo is also a private person who cares deeply about his family and personal life. Despite political demands, he stays grounded and connected to his roots. This balance between public responsibilities and private values makes him genuine and relatable.

He is known for being honest and straightforward, qualities that are uncommon in Guyanese politics today. While others may chase popularity, Dr. Jagdeo’s focus remains on credibility, delivery, and long-term results.

    People’s Choice

The people of Guyana continue to support Dr. Jagdeo because they know his intentions are genuine. They acknowledge his sacrifices, his dedication, and his vision for a brighter future for all Guyanese. His opponents may shout, but their voices are drowned out by the strong backing of the majority who believe in him.

Dr. Jagdeo has already established himself as a giant and a legend in Guyana’s political history, a man whose contributions cannot be erased by false narratives.

Standing Tall with Progress and Vision

Today, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo remains one of the most powerful and influential leaders in Guyana. He is not just a politician — he is a statesman, a strategist, and above all, a servant of the people. He has shown that leadership is about more than speeches; it’s about results, accountability, and compassion.

As the election season progresses, Guyana looks toward a future guided by his leadership. With Dr. Jagdeo at the helm of the PPP, the people trust in stability, prosperity, and unity. His journey is far from over, and his vision for Guyana’s economic breakthrough has already begun; this transformation of Guyanese society will continue over the next five years.

For thousands of Guyanese, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo is known as the architect of Guyana’s first economic miracle.

    Conclusion

Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo is defined not by his critics but by his achievements, resilience, and the trust of the people of Guyana. He has overcome personal attacks, delivered progress, and created a vision that inspires thousands in Guyana and abroad. In a world of fleeting politicians, Dr. Jagdeo stands out as a leader with substance, experience, and an unshakable bond with the people of Guyana.

Guyana currently needs strong, visionary leadership — and Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo exemplifies exactly what the country needs. His name will always be remembered as the man who stood tall, fought for unity, and dedicated his life to Guyana’s progress and its people. It is undeniable that Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo is “The First and Only Genuine Political Icon of Guyana.”
