In the last five years, Guyana has experienced a historic transformation under the leadership of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C). With the visionary direction of President Dr. Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister Mark Phillips, and Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Guyana’s economic, social, and infrastructural landscape has been reshaped, with the PPP/C government accomplishing more in a single term than any other government in the nation’s history.
The PPP/C government has a singular mission: to create a fair, modern, and prosperous Guyana for everyone, regardless of race, class, or geographical location. This inclusive approach has garnered significant support from many PNC/AFC voters for the PPP, reshaping the political landscape in Guyana. The choice couldn’t be clearer as we approach the 2025 general elections: we can either move forward with proven leadership and genuine progress or fall backward with unfulfilled promises and division.
From Vision to Victory: Major Achievements Since 2020. Promises Made, Promises Delivered
The PPP/C didn’t just make promises; it followed through on them. From economic growth and jobs to healthcare and education, the government has upheld its 2020 manifesto, positioning Guyana as a rising global star.
Oil Wealth for the People, Not the Powerful
Guyana manages its natural resources with integrity by establishing the Natural Resource Fund (NRF), which ensures transparency and accountability for every dollar spent. Unlike other nations where oil money fuels corruption, Guyana reinvests its wealth into public infrastructure, education, healthcare, and future generations, all under strict parliamentary oversight.
Building the Future: Infrastructure that Connects and Unites
Guyana is quickly becoming a regional leader in infrastructure development. The toll-free, four-lane Demerara River Bridge is an engineering marvel, symbolizing free, open, and accessible progress. Highways such as Diamond–Ogle and Schoonard–Crane are modernizing transportation across the nation. New roads in both urban and rural areas reduce travel time, boost commerce, and create economic opportunities for previously isolated communities. Every bridge, highway, and project brings Guyanese closer together, not just physically but also nationally.
More Jobs, More Businesses, More Opportunities
Under the PPP/C, thousands of new jobs have been created in construction, agriculture, energy, ICT, and tourism. Guyana’s private sector is flourishing due to significant investments and robust partnerships. Entrepreneurs now enjoy enhanced access to grants, training, and markets. Youth, women, and small businesses are empowered like never before.
Healthcare You Can Trust, Services Within Reach
Twelve new regional hospitals are being constructed, and six are expected to open by September 2025. Health centers across the nation are being modernized to ensure that care is accessible where people live, rather than just in urban areas and towns.
The 2024 budget allocates $1.8 billion for national eye care, ensuring that over 205,000 children and 76,000 seniors receive eye exams and vouchers for corrective lenses. Preventive healthcare is now a reality in motion, not just a dream.
Education is a Right, not a Privilege.
By 2025, university education will be free for all Guyanese. The “Because We Care” cash grant provides every schoolchild with $50,000 per year—over 205,000 students received this grant in 2024 alone. Students can access school supplies, digital tools, and a brighter academic future. No child will be left behind, and no family will be unsupported.
Feeding the Nation, Securing the Future
Farmers are receiving financial support along with improved irrigation systems. Agro-processing initiatives are transforming Guyana into a food-secure nation with goods ready for export. The PPP/C’s agricultural policy is based on resilience, sustainability, and growth.
A Home for Every Family
Since 2020, nearly 48,000 houses have been allocated, marking a significant realization of the PPP’s promise of affordable housing. First-time buyers, single mothers, and public servants now have genuine pathways to homeownership. Families are establishing roots and building futures with land titles and financing assistance.
Powering Progress Through Renewable Energy
The landmark Gas-to-Energy project and extensive solar energy initiatives are transforming Guyana’s energy grid. More affordable, cleaner, and more reliable electricity now powers homes, businesses, and industries while protecting the environment for future generations.
Tourism on the Rise: Guyana on the Global Map
Luxury hotels, eco-tourism initiatives, and cultural investments are transforming Guyana into a premier destination in South America. New tourism jobs are uplifting communities and nurturing a sense of national pride.
Digital Nation, Digital Citizens
From broadband infrastructure to technology training, Guyana is experiencing a digital revolution. Remote communities are now connected, and young people are acquiring essential 21st-century skills. The digital divide is narrowing, and opportunities are expanding.
Social Protection That Cares and Supports
The Old Age Pension has increased from GYD 36,000 to GYD 41,000 per month, and new grants of up to GYD 650,000 have been introduced for seniors who do not qualify for NIS. The PPP/C believes that every citizen deserves dignity and support.
From Poverty to Prosperity: Guyana’s Economic Rise
With an average GDP growth rate of 25% per year, Guyana has become one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Once one of the lowest per capita incomes, we have emerged as a global economic player, and this is just the beginning.
Why the PPP Deserves Your Vote in 2025: Protect Progress. Defend Democracy. Empower Guyana.
In stark contrast to progress, we must never forget the dark days of 2020, when the PNC/AFC attempted to rig and steal the election. For five months, they disrespected democracy, institutions, and the Guyanese people. The people prevailed only because of the PPP Party, the courage of the Guyanese citizens, and support from the international community. We cannot allow those who sought to rig and undermine elections and democracy to return to power.
On August 2, 2020, the PPP/C restored hope, unity, and purpose. Every key promise from the 2020 manifesto has been fulfilled. This isn’t propaganda; it’s a reality that the people of Guyana experience.
A Direct Appeal to Undecided, Frustrated, and Forward-Looking Voters
Undecided and uncertain voters should contemplate an essential question: Are we in a better position today than we were in 2020?
We should consider whether we want to support a party that has consistently accused the people of Guyana without offering real solutions, a party that thrives on division rather than on progress.
Do we support a government that has made and fulfilled promises, one that has prioritized development, inclusivity, and the upliftment of all Guyanese, rather than inciting accusations of racism against Indo-Guyanese citizens, as the PNC has often done?
The choice lies between a future based on progress and unity or one that is trapped in blame and stagnation.
Today, Guyana is experiencing growth. Families are thriving, children are learning, roads are connecting, seniors are receiving care, and businesses are flourishing. This progress belongs to Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, Indigenous peoples, mixed-race citizens, and immigrants. The PPP/C is the only party that genuinely represents all Guyanese.

Reject corruption. Reject division. Reject deception.
The PNC/AFC party has placed its complete faith in the 29.1% Afro-Guyanese population, misleading its supporters into believing they can win a national election with just this voter base. In doing so, it has chosen to ignore the remaining 71% of the population, which includes Indo-Guyanese, mixed-race citizens, Amerindians, Portuguese, and Chinese communities. This narrow and divisive strategy has resulted in widespread disillusionment, prompting many Indo-Guyanese and Afro-Guyanese citizens to leave the PNC/AFC party for the PPP party, as they recognize that the PNC/AFC has little to offer in terms of vision, leadership, or national unity.
Among the party’s controversial figures is Azruddin Mohamed, currently under investigation by local authorities and international agencies such as the AFAC and the FBI for alleged involvement in extensive gold smuggling and money laundering operations. Reports suggest that Azruddin lacks formal education and believes his wealth can influence election outcomes in Guyana. Additionally, it is reported that he pays groups to attend his political meetings, creating the illusion of public support with hired crowds.
Additionally, his legal troubles are escalating. He may face extradition to the United States and prosecution in Guyana for fraudulent activities, including falsifying invoices.
Guyanese citizens are becoming more aware of these realities, and many are seeking more inclusive and development-oriented alternatives that truly represent the interests of the entire nation.
The PPP government is shaping a brighter and bolder future for Guyana, and this commitment will continue over the next five years. The PPP is a party that keeps its promises and will maintain that in the years to come.
