In a significant diplomatic outreach, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor led an all-party Indian parliamentary delegation to Guyana as part of India’s post-Operation Sindoor initiative. The visit aimed to fortify bilateral relations and present a united front against global terrorism.

    A United Front Against Terrorism

Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, represents India’s resolute stance against terrorism. Tharoor emphasized India’s commitment to combating terrorism, stating, “We will never let anybody believe they can just walk across the border and kill our civilians or kill anybody in our country and get away with impunity” . He highlighted the importance of bringing perpetrators and their supporters to justice, reinforcing India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.

    Engagement with Guyanese Leadership

The delegation’s visit included a meeting with Guyana’s Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo. Discussions centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing shared concerns over terrorism. Jagdeo expressed unwavering support for India’s fight against terrorism, stating, “We are against terrorism, and we believe that all those who perpetrate terrorist acts must be brought to justice” .

Tharoor described the meeting as “phenomenal,” noting Jagdeo’s deep understanding of India’s position on current events and the broader implications of terrorism on global peace and security .

    Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Beyond counter-terrorism efforts, the delegation’s visit aimed to bolster India-Guyana relations. The Indian delegation engaged with various stakeholders, including members of the Indian diaspora, to discuss opportunities for collaboration in areas such as trade, education, and cultural exchange. The visit underscored the historical and cultural ties between the two nations and the potential for future cooperation.

    Global Diplomatic Outreach

The visit to Guyana is part of a broader diplomatic initiative involving multiple all-party delegations visiting key global capitals. These delegations aim to convey India’s firm stance on terrorism and seek international support for its counter-terrorism efforts. Tharoor’s leadership in this initiative highlights the importance of bipartisan cooperation in addressing global challenges.

    Conclusion

Shashi Tharoor’s visit to Guyana marks a significant step in India’s diplomatic efforts to combat terrorism and strengthen international partnerships. The engagement with Guyanese leadership and the broader diplomatic outreach underscore India’s commitment to global peace and security.

Their members are leaving in droves for the PPP party, while some are desperately trying to form splinter groups to take advantage of the 29.1% Afro-Guyanese community. Azruddin Mohamed — a disgraced money launderer, gold smuggler, and fraudster — has been entirely shunned by his Muslim community. Now, he seeks to con the Amerindian community with gifts and cash. If these so-called leaders cannot even manage their own parties, how can they be trusted to govern an entire nation?
