Former Georgetown Mayor Pandit Ubraj Narine has officially withdrawn his membership from the People’s National Congress Reform (PNC/R), announcing his departure after what he described as careful consideration and a desire to part ways amicably. Essentially, Pandit Narine has become irrelevant within the PNC party of Forbes Burnham. Aubrey Norton’s team considers him an insignificant contributor to their new ideology. Everyone knows that Aubrey Norton is determined to erase Forbes Burnham’s legacy, even among those devoted to the late President Burnham.
Pandit Ubraj may use colorful language to justify his resignation from his beloved PNC party. Still, he was ignored and considered a non-contributor to the party because Aubrey Norton supposedly favours only Afro-Guyanese, who make up just 29.3% of the population.
The resignation letter, dated November 20, 2025, and addressed to PNCR Leader Aubrey Norton, announced his immediate withdrawal from the party. Narine said that his time in the organization gave him meaningful public service opportunities and strong political connections.
In his letter, he acknowledged that although his political stance no longer aligns with the party, he holds no hostility toward its history or purpose. He reaffirmed that his dedication to national development and democratic values remains the same and sent best wishes to the PNCR as it continues its mission.
Democratic values? Please, Pandit, give us a break. The PNC has been rigging elections since Burnham’s era. Dead people in London were voting in Burnham’s general elections in the 1970s. Where were your values during those rigged elections?
Just one day later, writing under the pen name Satya Prakash, Narine published a column titled “Undermined from Inside: PNC/R Struggles to Uphold Burnham’s Legacy.” The piece issued a stern warning that the party is experiencing slow internal decay caused by figures whose beliefs, he argued, conflict with the founding ideology of Linden Forbes Burnham.
He suggested that although political organizations face external pressure, it is internal divisions that often cause their collapse. The column notes that disagreements within the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) parliamentary faction have shifted from constructive political debate to ideological fragmentation and a decline in organizational unity.
Pandit Narine further claimed that individuals who previously opposed key Burnham-era principles—and who resisted the APNU coalition during crucial election periods, especially in 2020—now hold prominent political positions. He stated that these figures rely on the loyalty of the PNCR grassroots despite not embodying the values that built the party’s support base.
Narine argued that the PNCR’s historical strength came from disciplined leadership, strategic planning, and ideological consistency, not luck. He claimed that allowing figures who deviate from the party’s core beliefs to rise unchecked has weakened its internal culture and diminished unity.
He emphasized that preventing further decline requires honest leadership and ideological recalibration, stating that the party’s future relevance depends on confronting internal contradictions rather than avoiding them.
The column concluded that Guyana is entering a new political era, and the PNCR must decide whether to reclaim its core mission or let its legacy fade due to internal sabotage and complacency.
It would be better for Pandit Ubraj to focus on his Hindu religious work in Guyana rather than wasting time with Aubrey Norton and his racist group, including Hamilton Green, David Hinds, and others. Aubrey Norton believes that with 29.3% of the Afro-Guyanese population, he will win the next general election in 2031. He is building castles in the air, and 70% of the population is wondering whether Aubrey Norton has lost his mind or maybe should buy him a calculator to work out the voting figures himself.
How can he win a general election with only 29.3% of the Afro-Guyanese population? In the 2025 general election, 20% of Afro-Guyanese defected from the PNC and voted for the PPP and other parties. Furthermore, Aubrey Norton is determined to undermine Forbes Burnham’s legacy by introducing his new vision for the PNC. Forbes Burnham is rolling into his grave.
Finally, Pandit Ubraj Narine, as a Hindu priest, should understand the meaning of karma, and what’s happening to the Forbes Burnham PNC party is a clear example of that.
