India dominated the opening day of the 1st Test against South Africa as Jasprit Bumrah produced a sensational spell, dismantling the Proteas batting lineup with a brilliant five-wicket haul. His precision, pace, and control kept the South African batsmen under constant pressure, eventually bowling them out for a modest 159 runs.

From the very start, Bumrah looked in top rhythm, extracting movement off the pitch and troubling every batter who walked in. His early breakthroughs set the tone, and the middle-order collapse ensured South Africa never found stability. Support from the other Indian bowlers kept the pressure intact, while sharp fielding added to the visitors’ woes.

For South Africa, only a couple of batters managed to resist briefly, but no one could convert it into a big score. The Indian bowlers capitalized on every opportunity and maintained discipline throughout the innings. Bumrah’s fifer stood out as the highlight of the day, reaffirming his status as one of the world’s premier fast bowlers.

With South Africa restricted to 159, India now has a golden opportunity to take control of the match as the batters prepare to build a strong first-innings lead. The momentum is firmly with India, thanks to Bumrah’s sensational performance on Day 1.
