President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali announced plans to deepen collaboration with churches countrywide to enhance community support services and national development.
While addressing a Good Friday service at Life Spring Ministries, President Ali outlined a vision for greater involvement of religious institutions in delivering social and healthcare support.

He said the government is working with churches to improve access to essential services, including healthcare outreach, distribution of benefits, and support for vulnerable groups such as the elderly.
According to President Ali, churches play a key role in ensuring equity at the community level, serving as accessible spaces where citizens receive assistance.
“The church has a vital role in supporting people and strengthening communities,” he stated.
Beyond service delivery, the head of state urged citizens to embrace the values of unity and togetherness, noting that the concept of “family” must extend beyond the church walls.
“When we see the church as a family, we begin to see the community and country in the same way,” he said.
He called on citizens to support one another and foster stronger community bonds, emphasising that collective responsibility is key to national progress.
