“Glenn Lall: It’s Time to Come Clean and Reveal the Truth to the Voters”

Every voter wields a significant influence in Glenn Lall’s call for transparency. Their insistence on the necessary information about him is a potent tool, as it is unlikely that any voter will take him seriously until he provides it. This power lies in the hands of the voters, empowering them to shape the political landscape.

It’s not just important; it’s the voter’s right to be fully informed about Glenn Lall’s personal background, education, and the source of his business financing. These are fundamental criteria that any Guyanese citizen should be aware of when considering a presidential candidate. The public has the right to know the truth about Glenn Lall, and any other individual who seeks to represent the voters as a presidential candidate has a duty of care to disclose their background to the voters of Guyana. This duty of care is a crucial aspect of the relationship between the candidate and the voters, and the voters are justified in demanding this information.

If Lall wishes to be taken seriously as a contender for the presidency, it is not just fair but urgent that he faces the same level of scrutiny he demands from others. As a public figure, Lall should be transparent about his financial history, including how he gained the capital to build his publishing business. The public deserves to know the origins of his wealth and business operations, particularly if he aims to lead the country. This information is not just a matter of curiosity but a necessity for the voters to make an informed decision.

Glenn Lall’s ongoing attacks against Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo reveal a deep-rooted obsession with undermining Dr Jagdeo’s long-standing contributions to Guyana. With decades of service and dedication to the nation, Dr. Jagdeo has played a pivotal role in shaping Guyana’s economic development, something Lall continuously overlooks in his relentless pursuit to discredit him. Lall’s motivations seem driven less by a genuine desire for change and more by a personal vendetta to remove Dr Jagdeo from power, a man whose leadership and accomplishments are widely recognized. It’s clear that compared to Dr. Jagdeo, Glenn Lall has contributed ZERO economic development to the people of Guyana, and it’s essential for voters to critically evaluate this contrast.

While Lall is vocal about his disdain for the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and Dr Jagdeo’s leadership, his political ambitions raise significant questions. Recently, he declared his intention to challenge the PPP in the 2025 general elections, signaling his desire to become the President of Guyana. However, unlike Dr Jagdeo, who has built a legacy of service and development, Lall’s political aspirations appear to lack the same dedication or vision for the country’s future.

A veil of mystery surrounds Glenn Lall’s sudden rise to influence and wealth. Despite his humble beginnings allegedly selling “Pants lengths” and “Trousers cloth” in Leguaan and Wakeham, questions persist about the source of his resources to build his publishing business and fund various ventures. If Lall wishes to be taken seriously as a presidential contender, it is only fair that he faces the same level of scrutiny he demands from others. As a public figure, Lall should be transparent about his financial history, including how he amassed the capital to build his publishing business. The public has a right to know the origins of his wealth and business operations, especially if he aspires to lead the country.

In a democratic society, transparency is vital, and if Glenn Lall expects to challenge Dr. Jagdeo’s integrity, he must first clear up his own. The same principle applies to other media outlets that have joined in criticizing Dr Jagdeo. Many of these attacks, particularly from social media platforms abroad, often stem from individuals who lack a complete understanding of Guyana’s context or have their own personal grievances. The question is whether those targeting Dr Jagdeo are genuinely interested in the country’s welfare or their attacks are motivated by personal gain or vendettas.

The supporters of the PPP and Dr. Jagdeo are aware of the truth. Dr Jagdeo’s track record speaks for itself, and despite the baseless accusations thrown at him, his leadership remains strong. The people of Guyana have witnessed firsthand the positive changes he has implemented, and no amount of false rhetoric can erase those achievements.

The fundamental issue with Glenn Lall is that, deep down, he seems to aspire to be like Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, but he’s unwilling to admit this desire. While Lall may admire Jagdeo’s success and stature, he falls short in critical areas—lacking the academic, intellect, political experience, and leadership qualities necessary to guide a country like Guyana.

Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, on the other hand, became President at the remarkably young age of 35, and since then, he has made significant contributions to Guyana’s economic and political development. His leadership has left an indelible mark on the country’s progress, achieving far more than all his predecessors. Jagdeo’s ability to navigate complex global issues, foster economic growth, and maintain political stability is a testament to his vision and capability.

It is unlikely for Glenn Lall to achieve anything resembling Jagdeo’s legacy—it is nearly impossible. The people of Guyana understand this. They recognize that leadership is not just about ambition but about the ability to deliver real, meaningful change, something Dr Jagdeo has repeatedly proven time and again.

Their members are leaving in droves for the PPP party, while some are desperately trying to form splinter groups to take advantage of the 29.1% Afro-Guyanese community. Azruddin Mohamed — a disgraced money launderer, gold smuggler, and fraudster — has been entirely shunned by his Muslim community. Now, he seeks to con the Amerindian community with gifts and cash. If these so-called leaders cannot even manage their own parties, how can they be trusted to govern an entire nation?
