In continuation of my previous post clarifying the misleading comparison between the OFAC sanctions on the Chinese firm building the Harbour Bridge and the full blocking sanctions on Mohamed’s Enterprise in Guyana, let’s now look at the actual scope of the Chinese sanctions.
🔍 What Executive Order 14032 Really Says This Executive Order, issued by U.S. President Joe Biden on June 3, 2021, targets publicly traded securities of companies linked to the Chinese military-industrial complex and surveillance technology sector. It does not impose asset freezes or trade bans. Instead, it prohibits U.S. persons from investing in these companies.
