The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday carried out extensive searches at Faridabad’s Al-Falah University and multiple locations connected to individuals linked to the Delhi car blast case. The move comes as part of the agency’s ongoing probe into suspected financial links, money laundering activities, and possible terror funding associated with the incident.
According to officials, the searches were conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED is examining whether funds were channelled through educational institutions, businesses, or personal accounts to support those involved in the blast. Investigators suspect that certain transactions connected to Al-Falah University and related individuals may hold crucial clues regarding the broader network behind the attack.
The car blast, which occurred in Delhi last week, triggered a multi-agency investigation involving Delhi Police’s Special Cell, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and now the Enforcement Directorate. While police have already detained several suspects for questioning, the ED’s involvement aims to trace any financial trails to determine if the act had backing from organised groups or foreign entities.
Sources said that during the raids, officials seized documents, digital devices, and financial records that may help piece together the money flow linked to the suspects. The ED is expected to summon several individuals associated with the university for questioning in the coming days.
Al-Falah University, located on the outskirts of Delhi in Faridabad, has issued no official statement yet. However, officials familiar with the investigation stated that the searches do not imply guilt but are part of a standard procedure to verify financial links.
The ED is also probing whether shell companies or bogus admission channels were used to launder money. Investigators believe that uncovering the financial links is key to determining the motive behind the blast and identifying the masterminds behind the operation.
The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are expected to share further details as more evidence is analysed. For now, the searches mark a significant development in the Delhi car blast case, signalling a deeper focus on the financial and institutional connections of the accused.
