The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community sports and creating greater opportunities for young athletes, with the donation of a brand-new lawn mower to newly promoted Elite League club Campton FC.
The equipment was handed over on Saturday by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr, at the Campton Ground in Campbellville.

Club President Selwyn Robertson expressed heartfelt gratitude to the ministry and Minister Ramson, thanking them for keeping their word and delivering on their commitment to support the club.
He noted that the lawn mower will play a critical role in maintaining the playing surface to the standard required for Elite League competition.
Players and club members also welcomed the donation, describing it as a tremendous boost for the club.

They expressed appreciation for the ministry’s continued investment in community sport, noting that the equipment will greatly improve the ground, enhance training conditions, and help the club maintain high standards throughout the season.
Minister Ramson highlighted that the donation forms part of the government’s broader investment in community sports infrastructure.

He explained that the upgrading of grounds, installation of fencing, and distribution of maintenance equipment are creating safer, more accessible and community-friendly sporting facilities while expanding opportunities for youth development through sport across Guyana.
The minister noted that more than 100 lawn mowers and other ground maintenance equipment have already been distributed to community sports facilities nationwide, reflecting the government’s ongoing commitment to investing in sport at the grassroots level.

Once regarded as one of Guyana’s premier football clubs, Campton FC is now focused on restoring its former glory following its promotion back to the Elite League.
Club officials credited the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport for its continued investment and unwavering support, noting that initiatives such as the donation of maintenance equipment have played an important role in the club’s growth and development.
