The International Building Expo 2026 has proven to be more than a showcase of products and services. It has created new opportunities for entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, attract investors and connect with customers from Guyana and abroad.
Among those capitalising on the event is Omeika St Juste, whose business is exhibiting under the Small Business Bureau.
She told the Department of Public Information(DPI) on Thursday that the expo has exceeded expectations, generating strong sales while expanding her customer base. This will be her third year participating in the expo.

“We are excited about having a booth…the sales are amazing. We are meeting new customers, the experience is lovely,” St Juste said.
Young entrepreneur Jay [only name given] also praised the exhibition for creating valuable networking opportunities that are helping small businesses gain visibility and grow.

She told DPI that Guyana’s rapid development is inspiring young people to become entrepreneurs and build businesses of their own.
Additionally, the expo is also attracting international attention.
Jamaican national Ian Walkers said he was impressed by Guyana’s transformation, describing the country’s infrastructure and housing development as remarkable.

“I was surprised to see the size of it and the attendance…an amazing amount of development is going on within a short time,” Walkers said, adding that his visit has renewed his interest in investing in Guyana.
The expo has grown over the years, with over 25 new booths reserved compared to last year, and more international companies taking part, including firms from Costa Rica, Mexico, Japan, the United Kingdom, and India.
The exposition will run from June 25 to 28 at the National Stadium in Providence under the theme “Guyana at 60: Building Strong Foundations for a Sustainable Future.”
