The resumption of direct flights between Beijing and New Delhi marks an important step toward improving relations between India and China. After several years of disruption, this development is being seen as a positive signal that both countries are working to restore normal ties and strengthen connectivity. The move is expected to make travel easier for business professionals, tourists, and students, while also encouraging closer people-to-people interaction.

The flights have been restarted by Air China, which will operate the route multiple times a week using wide-body aircraft. This restoration of direct air service comes after a long pause caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and tensions between the two nations, particularly following the Galwan Valley clash. The suspension of flights had significantly reduced travel and exchanges, making this resumption a notable milestone.

In recent months, there has been a gradual effort by both countries to rebuild aviation links. Other routes have also started to reopen, including connections involving cities like Kunming, Kolkata, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. These developments suggest a broader attempt to restore connectivity and revive economic and cultural exchanges that were affected over the past few years.

The restart of flights is not just about transportation but also reflects a cautious improvement in diplomatic relations. Officials on both sides have indicated a willingness to move forward and stabilize ties. The return of regular air services is expected to support trade, tourism, and cooperation, which are essential for strengthening bilateral relations between the two Asian powers.

Overall, the reopening of the Beijing–Delhi route represents a step toward rebuilding trust and engagement. While challenges remain, increased connectivity could play a key role in bringing the two countries closer and creating new opportunities for collaboration in the future.
