As the government moves to ensure high-quality technical education remains accessible, a new vocational centre will be constructed in Thomas Lands, Georgetown.
This is another advancement of the government’s investment in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), ensuring programmes are directly aligned with the evolving needs of the modern labour market.

Contractors interested in contributing to this major transformation can obtain bidding documents from the accounts department of the Ministry of Health, Lot 1 Brickdam, Georgetown, for a non-refundable fee of $3,500.
When the document is filled out, it must be submitted to the Chairman of the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), Ministry of Finance, Main and Urquhart Streets in Georgetown, no later than 9:00 hrs on March 26, 2026.
Over the last five years, the government commissioned practical instructional spaces at Bartica, St Ignatius and the North West District, Beterverwagting, Fellowship and Hopetown, benefitting over 3,900 persons.
For this year, the government has allocated $2.5 billion specifically to expand access to TVET programmes nationwide.

For the current year alone, some $723.1 million has been earmarked to train an additional 2,000 persons.
With the construction of the Thomas Lands facility, the government remains steadfast in its commitment to equipping every Guyanese with the practical skills necessary for a secure future.
