Multiple drone intrusion attempts have been reported near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, prompting security forces to remain on high alert across several border areas. The suspected drones were spotted in forward locations close to the LoC and the International Border, raising concerns over possible cross-border surveillance or infiltration activities.

According to security officials, the drones were seen hovering briefly over Indian territory before moving back towards the other side. The sightings were reported from areas in Rajouri, Poonch, and Samba districts. In some locations, troops responded by opening precautionary fire after noticing suspicious aerial movement, while night surveillance systems were activated to track further activity.

Following the sightings, extensive search operations were launched in the surrounding areas to check for any potential dropping of arms, ammunition, narcotics, or communication devices. However, no recoveries were reported during the initial searches. Security agencies are also examining whether the drones were being used for reconnaissance purposes to gather information about troop deployment and infrastructure.

Officials said such drone intrusions have become a recurring challenge along the border in recent years, often linked to attempts at smuggling or intelligence gathering. In response, the Indian Army and other security forces have strengthened counter-drone measures, including enhanced monitoring, coordination between units, and the use of advanced detection equipment.

Authorities have assured that the situation remains under control but emphasized that vigilance has been further intensified to prevent any potential threat. The incidents once again underline the evolving nature of security challenges along the LoC and the need for constant preparedness to counter emerging aerial threats.
